Web3 Protocols

Protocol intelligence for Crypto Valley's Web3 ecosystem — Ethereum, Polkadot, Cardano, Tezos, and the infrastructure layers powering the decentralised internet.

Protocol intelligence for Crypto Valley’s Web3 ecosystem.

Zug is home to the foundations that govern the most significant Web3 protocols on earth. The Ethereum Foundation holds the endowment that funds Ethereum’s research and development. The Web3 Foundation controls the DOT treasury that funds Polkadot’s parachain ecosystem. The Cardano Foundation and Tezos Foundation oversee their respective networks’ development and governance.

ZUG WEB3’s protocol coverage examines these networks as engineering systems — their architectures, upgrade processes, economic models, developer ecosystems, and the Swiss governance structures through which their foundations operate.

Protocol coverage includes Ethereum (the Web3 base layer), Polkadot (cross-chain interoperability), Cardano (peer-reviewed blockchain development), and Tezos (on-chain governance and self-amendment). We also cover the infrastructure layers beneath them: rollups, data availability layers, bridges, and the modular blockchain stack that is reshaping how protocols are built and deployed.

Solana Foundation in Zug: High-Performance Blockchain and Switzerland's Role in the Solana Ecosystem

The Solana Foundation chose Zug for the same reasons the Ethereum Foundation did a decade earlier: Switzerland's Stiftung law, FINMA's principles-based oversight, and Crypto Valley's legal infrastructure. What Solana brought to that foundation is a radically different performance architecture — one that continues to divide protocol engineers and attract institutional capital in equal measure.
